In July 2015, Thames Valley Berkshire LEP was selected to deliver the flagship Enterprise Adviser Network, working in partnership with The Careers & Enterprise Company.

Research from the Education & Employers Taskforce and other sources shows that young people who have a greater exposure to employers whilst at school, achieve  better employment outcomes.

The first cornerstone initiative is a new network of ‘Enterprise Advisers’ who will work one-to-one with school and college leaders, helping them to develop effective employer engagement plans, drawing on existing, local business networks.

The Enterprise Adviser Network is a joint initiative brought to you by The Careers & Enterprise Company and Thames Valley Berkshire LEP.

Thames Valley Berkshire

Thames Valley Berkshire (TVB) is an economic powerhouse of enormous importance to the UK.

It is home to over 878,000 people and 43,000 businesses. Together these generate economic output – measured in terms of Gross Value Added (GVA) – of well over £34bn (in current prices). TVB is the only area of the UK with higher productivity levels than parts of the US.

Employment rates in TVB are high and unemployment rates are low.  However, there has been little change in these rates over the last 18 months, which has seen other local areas leapfrogging TVB in terms of labour market performance.
