THAMES VALLEY BERKSHIRE LEP APPOINTS NEW REPRESENTATIVE TO THE BERKSHIRE STRATEGIC TRANSPORT FORUM

Thames Valley Berkshire LEP has announced the appointment of Stuart Atkinson to the Berkshire Strategic Transport Forum (BSTF), following a successful recruitment campaign.

Stuart is a Director of Stuart Michael Associates Ltd, a leading firm of consulting engineers based in Thatcham, providing advice in transportation, water, environmental, infrastructure and civils/structural design services. Stuart is also Transport Adviser to Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce (West Berkshire), a national council member of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, and chartered member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.

Charles Eales, Co-Chairman of the BSTF and Head of Strategic Influencer Partnerships at Microsoft, comments, “I am delighted to welcome Stuart to the BSTF. Thames Valley Berkshire LEP has agreed three Growth Deals with government, which will see £142m invested into Berkshire; a key feature of the Deal is a package of road and public transport investments to improve connectivity and reduce journey times across the area. We welcome the knowledge and expertise that Stuart will bring to the Forum.”

Stuart Atkinson adds, “As a Berkshire resident, a local employer and with over 30 years experience as a transportation professional, I am honoured to be selected for the BSTF. I look forward to offering a strategic overview of the vital role that multi-model transport will continue to play in terms of sustaining economic growth and enhancing the wealth and wellbeing of Berkshire.”
