Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has developed three Sector Propositions. The purpose of these reports is to help attract foreign companies to invest in the sub region and demonstrate the true competitive advantage the area has over other locations.

Thames Valley Berkshire’s past economic success owes much to its international connectivity.  Built around the post-war infrastructure of Heathrow and the M4, some of the biggest global technology companies have chosen it as a strategic gateway to developing markets in the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia. In 2015/163, we recorded a record 67 new direct foreign investments into our sub region, which will create approximately 1,800 jobs. This means that we compete internationally.

However, competing on a global stage – whether as a business or a place – is an on-going process and there is no room for complacency. For this reason, we have developed an International Programme to focus on the promotion and international positioning of Thames Valley Berkshire.

In parallel, we will develop a strategic long term approach to the growth of the Visitor Economy. This has clear links to the Programme outlined above, particularly with regard to branding, promotion and the development of conference facilities.

In short, our prospects are good – and that’s why it’s important Thames Valley Berkshire spreads the word about what a great location we offer, in which people and businesses can live and work and grow.
